A vehicle used in port terminals and intermodal yards used for stacking and moving containers. Straddles can pick and transport a container long distances. A straddle terminal will usually not have RTGs/RMGs, and vice versa.
These machines can stack containers up to four high. These are capable of relatively low speeds (up to 30 km/h or 18.6 mph) with a full container. Straddle carriers can lift to two full containers.
