A complete Terminal Operating System (TOS) that is entirely on the cloud. The TOS is built on a true cloud infrastructure and should exhibit all, but are not limited to, cloud characteristics. However, the elimination of up-front capital expenditures and license costs is the main constituent of a cloud-based TOS, such that it supports a pay-as-you-go model which enormously lowers costs.
If the cloud-based TOS cannot offer these main characteristics such that access is granted through a web browser, it is not entirely built on a cloud infrastructure to be able to provide a pay-as-you-go model and will incur substantial expenses for the terminal. Therefore, it is considered a forged cloud TOS.« Back to Glossary Index
