Quay

Also referred to as wharf, this is where the ships berth or tie up alongside the dock. The quay length is measured in meters and can vary greatly from terminal to terminal. Some terminals that are landlocked such as in Tokyo, Japan, may have a quay length of about 300m where other terminals such as Pelepas in Malaysia have a quay length equivalent to 2880m.
